Good news everyone! (I just love getting to say that)
I have uploaded my new animation demo to my website: www.jenalyx.com
It is actually demo 1 (2009). Please let me know what you think.
Also, I recently was advised of the information about the Video Game I recorded for a short while back.
I am doing additional voices (no names but actual lines!) and walla in Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicals - Crystal Bearers. I had a lot of fun recording for it, and I can't wait to get the game and play it. If you are interested but didn't know, it appears the game will be released the day after Christmas, so keep an eye out for it. I will note later specifically what I did. I don't want to give away too much information.
As for writing, I am working hard on a new story that I am absolutely in love with. This is actually part of NaNoWriMo, but I am not pushing the word count for the deadline. I feel this story deserves more attention than just frantic writing. If I make the deadline of the end of the month with 50k+ words, then that's awesome. If I don't, I won't get too torn up about it. I want it to be good from start to finish; not rushed. I'd end up having to do insanely massive revisions because of that rush. Such revisions would only make true completion take even longer in the end. But, wish me luck all the same!

NaNoWriMo - just around the corner!
This will be the first year that I participate in NaNoWriMo, and I am pretty excited.
Wait, let me give a little back story:
I wrote a book last year, that is currently in the agent circuit. The problem is that Dark Kismet (the book) is Young Adult Paranormal Romance... i.e. vampires, witches, etc. This is possibly getting to be a over-submitted genre for most agents, and apparently in danger of over published as well. There are so many out there, and so many others hopefuly of getting published as well, that finding an agent is difficult. I don't want to go the self-published route, and I would rather not run headlong into unfamiliar territory by submitting directly to publishing houses. So, while it is what I love (paranormal romance, and vampire fiction in particular), I believe I am going to put it aside for a while, and move on. I have another one that was also in the works, that is also Paranormal Romance, but all witches more or less, but I think I am going to let that one sit for a bit as well.
So that brings me to what I have planned for NaNoWriMo. It is a young adult paranormal thriller (I am still working out the exact genre, but thats the closest thing I can connect it to right now), but no vampires, witches, or werewolves. I have a very good vision of it in my mind, and it plays out well to me. It isn't vampires, but it is still something that thrills me. I think that's what's important in this case. Others have heard out my plans and are really excited about the storyline, so I take that as a good sign.
I have read over an over, that you should write what you love. What I love happens to be pretty darn popular at the moment, but with that popularity comes the drawback of being over-popular. So, time to think outside the box. Time to step away from my general confort zone and feel around for some other inspiration. Time to write! Well, almost. Can't start just yet, but I am getting ready to rock this!
Anyone else participating in NaNoWriMo?

~Once and again~
Greetings,
For those who don't know me, my name is Jennifer. I am a professional voice actress, and this blog will partially cover my experiences and updates concerning that work. For voiceover work (anime, video games, etc), I go by Jennifer Alyx. I am also a fiction writer, for which I use my real name: Jennifer Alyx Truxillo. For writing though, I am still searching for an agent. I have a completed young adult paranormal romance novel (102k words), and another which is currently being written as I go through said agent search. This blog will also cover my experiences in the agent search and hopefully publication process, any updates I have, and field questions or ask them of other actors and/or writers out there.
I am going to keep it short and sweet for now, but I should return soon for another post.
